Hello!

Hello!

It's been a while. A long while. So much has been going on behind the scenes here and I've been pondering the future of this little space of mine.

Basically, I woke up one day and realised I was trying to do too many things, and as a result I wasn't doing any of them well. I was doing lots of things in an average way. That's not me, I'm a perfectionist and I like to give 110% to everything I do.  I work part time and I'm a Mumma and I also have an incredible creative urge to satisfy.

So.....I have decided to focus my attention and do a few things well, rather than lots of things not very well. I take great pride in my role as a Mumma, so that is my first priority. I will also be focusing my attention on creating my handmade dolls and connecting with like minded people over on instagram.  I would love it if you popped over and followed me there. It's a beautiful, supportive community, just search @mooseandbird.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for visiting this little space over the years, it's been an absolute joy.

Much love to you all.

'A portrait of Millie, once a week, every week, in 2014'

Millie: 'Tea for One' after a week of sickness. A dose of Hand, Foot and Mouth for this little possum and her Daddy.

I hope your week has been a healthier one than ours.

Nana Knits

My Mum and Dad are an absolute blessing in every sense of the word. Their love is abundant and their generosity is bountiful. Last week my Mum presented these two little hand knitted kittens to Millie. It was love at first sight, particularly with the pink one. It is gifts like these that will be treasured forever, their neck ties will fray, their arms and eyes will be re-stitched and stitched again, and their stuffing will soften , but they will always be loved.

Do you love 'Nana Knits' as much as I do?

Happy days to you!

P.S. Since I took this photo there has been a new addition to the kitten family. Millie's absolute favourite.....a 'burple' one. I think we've got a crazy cat baby on our hands!

19/52, 20/52 & 21/52 {playing catch up}

'A portrait of Millie, once a week, every week, in 2014'
I'm determined to present 52 portraits this year. I don't want to miss a week (or many weeks) like I did last year. I took this project on as a challenge and I'm determined to see it through.....so I'm playing catch up this week.

19/52 - A Mother's Day portrait. Not the best photo, but it was a 'best of the bad bunch' kind of scenario.
20/52 - My little crafty companion (an un-portrait of sorts). I love how her little hand is holding the paper in this portrait.
21/52 - At the park with a sense of uncertainty.  Maybe next time she might enjoy the slide and swings.

The Home Dressmaker {project 1}

One of my goals for 2014 was to use some of my many dressmaking patterns to make Millie and I some clothes.  My first project.....these little bloomer style shorts (for Millie) which I made from a vintage sheet. The pattern I used was by Bobkin - Blue Jays PDF pattern. I was so pleased with the finished result and I can't wait to tackle my next project.

Are you working on any dressmaking projects at the moment or found any great dressmaking patterns? I'd love to know.

Happy days to you!
